Affordable Eyeglasses in Quiapo

Last month, I noticed that my 2 years old Transition eyeglass has a mini crack on its right lens and it becomes worse as time goes by. This made me search for something affordable to replace it and I dont want to spend more than 6000 Php for a new pair because it will break my budget. My search leads me to P.Paterno St. Quiapo!

This place was recommended by my officemate and my mom. And I search online for feedbacks about optical shops in this place.  From another blogger I got Reshma on my list, second choice is Abesamis which was recommended by my officemate and third choice is Optique Prima recommended by mom.

After the inquiries with the two optical shops, I ended up with Optique Prima since this is the place where my mom had her glasses too.  I was looking for an affordable pair of photochromatic lens or the generic version of Transition lenses. Optique Prima gave me a good deal.

Optique Prima is just beside the Nazareno along P. Paterno St.

since I am not sure anymore about my eye grades, I like to have an eye-check up first which is 300 php.

after checking my eyes, I was able to choose my frames while they are checking for the availability of my lens. Lucky me they have stocks because if not they still have to order from their supplier and it will be a delay in my end.

They told me eyeglasses will be done in the next 2 hours. But the girl who assisted me for my frames I can try to be there 30 mins earlier. So I did, and in 1 hr and 30  mins I was able to scout in Quiapo area and visited the Wellness Mason along Villabos st.

while sitting in their lounge, i took a snap shot

Wellness Mason is haven for people who love beads! Necklace, bracelets and different kind of girly accessories are all present. This place has 4 alleys (if im not mistaken) that sells different kinds of beads, from plastics, glass and even swarovskis! They have it. I love their spot of semi-lounge seats for people who are not into long walks in the girly place. You can eat, drink and even just read newspaper available while waiting your friends.

And after 1 hr and 30 mins, holla! I got my glasses for Php 3,800! Honestly I forgot the breakdown of the total amount. (I'm really not that good at numbers, sorry!) As far as I know the frame is around 2k and still discounted at a certain percent. I assume that the lens are Php 2,500 and the lens is Php 1,300. Basta Php 3,800 sa gradong 4.25 at 3.75...

my new eyeglass (generic photochromatic)

Hope this helps!
